About the M48A3 Patton - Main Battle Tank:

Converted from earlier variations of the M48 in early 1963, the M48A3 Patton was deployed mainly to Vietnam. The A3 variant fixed the flammability issues of earlier versions by using a supercharged diesel engine rather than gasoline. Used throughout most of the war, the M48A3 was used mainly as infantry support and for maintaining defensive positions. As the US began to withdraw in 1970, most M48A3s were turned over to the South Vietnamese but were hardly used due to a lack of accessible parts.

This updated model presents an even sturdier design and includes all of the features of the previous kit, such as a mechanical main turret function, independently rotating command turret, and smooth rolling suspension. Some of the new additions include an updated main gun with a 76mm BrickArms® barrel, opening top and engine hatches, as well as a tiled upper hull and new wheel design. Also included are a plethora of printed elements, including “Pray for Clutch” on the barrel and detailed rear engine doors.
