About the Kfz 70 Krupp Protze – WWII German Utility Truck:

The Krupp Protze was a German truck used throughout the Second World War for transporting troops, supplies, and artillery. Produced by the industrial conglomerate Krupp, the Protze was introduced in 1939 and quickly became a vital element in the Wehrmacht’s logistics network. The truck was used extensively through the early stages of the war, particularly in Russia, France, and Africa.

The Protze was notable for its versatility. Built on a 3-ton truck chassis, it featured a 6x4 wheel configuration, providing strong off-road capabilities and allowing it to operate in challenging terrains. It often towed light artillery, particularly the 37mm Pak 36 anti-tank gun, but it also carried ammunition, fuel, and other supplies for frontline units. Used extensively by motorized infantry units, the Krupp Protze proved useful as a radio truck, a command vehicle, an ammunition or personnel carrier, and a gun tractor.
