About the MUTT M151 ¼ Ton 4x4 Utility Truck:
Introduced in 1959, the M151 MUTT (Multi Utility Tactical Truck) was the replacement for the Korean War vintage M38 Jeep. More spacious than previous Jeeps, it was also the first to have coil spring suspension, offering a smoother ride over rough terrain. The MUTT served with distinction in the Vietnam War and was subsequently replaced in U.S. inventory when the Humvee was introduced in the 1980s.
