About the Pink Panther – 1968 SAS Land Rover S2A:

Often referred to as the “Pinkie,” the Pink Panther is a heavily customized Land Rover Series 2A built for British Special Air Service (SAS) desert warfare operations in the Middle East. The pink camouflage was discovered to be highly effective in the dawn and dusk hours of desert operations. Other alterations included four fuel tanks with a combined capacity of 100 gallons, a heavy-duty chassis, upgraded suspension, sand tires, differential guards on the front and back, and a spare tire. Additionally, rifle boxes were added along with shovels, jerry cans, and sand ladders. For SAS operation purposes, the vehicles were equipped with a machine gun, an anti-tank weapon, rifles, grenade holders, smoke canisters, navigation equipment, and spotlights on the front and back.
