The M1224 MRAP is a heavily armored, mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle designed to protect soldiers in high-risk environments. Developed to provide superior protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs), mines, and small arms fire, the MaxxPro features an advanced V-shaped hull, which effectively deflects blasts from below, reducing the impact of explosives on the crew. Debuting in 2007, over 9,000 have been built, and MaxxPros have served in combat zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Ukraine.
Powered by a 330-horsepower engine, the M1224 can navigate rough terrain and reach top speeds of around 65 mph. Depending on the configuration, it carries 3-7 crew. The vehicle's design includes a high ground clearance, and it is fully customizable with different armor packages and communication systems to suit mission-specific needs. In addition to its thick armor and protected V-hull, the MaxxPro’s defensive capabilities include an armored turret, machine guns, and grenade launchers.
