The 15 cm sIG 33 (schweres Infanteriegeschütz 33, Heavy Infantry Gun Type 33) was an infantry gun used by Nazi Germany in World War II. It was first developed by Rheinmetall in 1927 as a howitzer to provide firepower support to infantry units, and was standardized in 1933. Each infantry regiment's infantry artillery company was equipped with two guns. It was the most powerful and large-caliber artillery gun for infantry units, and was effective in suppressing heavily defended enemy positions, and production continued until the end of the war in 1945.
