About the SdKfz 250/3 "Greif" - Light Radio Armored Car:
During Germany’s North Africa campaign in World War II, Feldmarshall Erwin Rommel utilized three signature SdKfz 250/3 halftracks for protection and transport. A very hands-on commander, Rommel often visited front line troops in these iconic vehicles to boost morale. Each vehicle was named, the ADLER (EAGLE), GREIF (GRIFFIN) and IGEL (HEDGEHOG) and became a symbol of the Feldmarshall’s presence throughout the campaign.
