Notes from Designer Andreas Eggen…
It’s been a great honor for me to be able to represent various nations of NATO such as the Norwegian, French and Italian through their army trucks. Today I get to represent the British military forces. I had my eye on a few different UK vehicles, but this fierce looking 4x4 known as the Husky stood out among the rest. Having the overall look to something along the lines of an MATV, but the size of something closer to the Humvee, I saw the potential for balance of play and display. For the overall design and playability I included features such as posable steering of the front wheels, opening doors and a 360-degree rotating turret with a Perfect Caliber™ BrickArms® M240B. This was also the perfect timing to create the shaping of the hood from new wedge pieces that are brand new to our library of parts, with new parts never seen before in our kits in tan. Keeping the printed parts minimum yet purposeful with printed pieces like the windshield, grille, license plate, a storage ammo box and two Perfect Calibers™. While also being able to brick-build key features like the glass windows and headlights/tail lights, enhancing and maximizing the building experience. To top it all off, you get two British special operations ModCom operators, featuring an exclusive Perfect Caliber™ BrickArms® L85A1.
About the Husky TSV – British Armored Tactical Support Vehicle:
Commended for its reliability and versatility, the Husky TSV is a medium-armored, high-mobility tactical support vehicle. Useful for general transport, the Husky also is employed as an ambulance, an all-terrain reconnaissance vehicle, and a mobile command post.
The Husky TSV is based on the International MXT-MV, or Military Extreme Truck – Military Version, but it is extensively modified to meet British military specifications. It carries a driver and commander, with room for two passengers, a gunner, and cargo or specialist equipment on the rear flatbed. The roof-mounted turret provides defense and support fire for dismounted troops, and the strong frame and armor protects against small-arms fire and kinetic and blast mines. Specialist versions may carry machine-gun or grenade-launcher systems, medical supplies, or vehicle recovery equipment. With large tires, 4-wheel drive, a top speed of 70 mph, and a range of over 400 miles, the Husky TSV is a highly mobile and adaptable load-carrying vehicle, serving British forces around the world.
