About the T-80BVM – Main Battle Tank:
First showcased in 2017, the T-80BVM is Russia’s first tank to be fitted with Relikt explosive reactive armor. This armor protects against tandem warheads and reduces penetration of APFSDS rounds. The tank’s main armament is a 125mm smoothbore gun, but it is also armed with 9M119M Refleks anti-tank guided missiles. The secondary armament features a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun and roof-mounted 12.7 mm machine gun. Similar to the U.S. Abrams, the T-80BVM utilizes a turbine engine making it able to reach speeds of 70kph while on a road.
