About the Fw-189 Uhu – German Reconnaissance Aircraft:

Entering service in 1940, the Fw-189 Uhu (Eagle Owl) was a massive success as a reconnaissance aircraft. The extensive use of glass canopies made for more accurate observations and quicker communication between crew. Even more impressive was the plane’s durability. Throughout Operation Barbarossa, Fw-189’s found themselves in the crosshairs of Soviet AA guns, but many managed to still return to base - sometimes with just one tail boom! As aircraft advanced, the Fw-189 was relegated to a night reconnaissance role with 846 produced by mid-1944. After the war, General Paul Deichmann was quoted as saying, “Of the tactical reconnaissance aircraft used by the Luftwaffe, the Fw-189 was nearest to the ideal.”

Additional information about this Brickmania® custom building kit:

Loaded with printed elements, and a crew of two custom minifigs, the Fw-189 is a remarkably durable build considering its intricacies. The brick-built camo complements the printed squadron insignias, cross-element balkenkreuzes, and detailed cockpit. Standard play features include spinning props and functional landing gear. Note: a crew of two was selected for this build because it easily seats two minifigs. Stand-alone WWII German pilots to complete your crew will be available in the future.
